Natural Resource Management
This component aims at enhancing the sustainable management and secure access of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities to natural resources (water and pasture) with trans-boundary significance.
Market Access and Trade
Aims at improving the market access of target communities to the intra-regional and international markets of livestock and livestock products.
Livelihoods Support
The purpose is to enhance the livelihoods of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities in the project area through provision of affordable Livestock Health Services, Feed and fodder production, breed improvement and promotion of alternative livelihoods. Read more
Pastoral Risk Management
This component aims at enhancing drought-related hazards preparedness, prevention and response at the national and regional levels through dissemination of early warning information on drought disasters.
Project Management and Institutional Support
This component would focus on two areas
All aspects related to overall project management and institutional strengthening at the county, national and regional levels for drought resilience.
Safeguards
The World Bank’s environmental and social safeguard policies will guide the implementation of RPLRP investments. The objective of these policies is to prevent and mitigate undue harm to people and their environment in the development process.
